A79 was never built as a full train. Carriages ending in 79 were built as prototypes with D6379 being used to replace D6342 following a crash.

A2 was not on Sydney rails for long. It was involved in an acid spill during its transportation from China where it was severly damaged. So far, it has been the only A Set train to be scrapped. A80 was built to replace it.
